Five Days
Mother, help me, there's a head attached to my neck and I'm in it. - Disco Elysium
Day 1 - Woke up to the end of the morning. I don't remember when I fell asleep or if I did at all. Looks like there was just the shutting off of the mind and now, the awakening. No rest in between.
Day 2 - I learn to use my limbs. Moved around a bit. Felt the floor under my feet and air in my nostrils. Damp, oxidized and nostalgic.
I MUST GET OUT OF HERE!
Day 3 - This is when I being to hear the chatter in my brain. It starts as a dull humming and then turns into a constant radio-static. I try to listen closely. In between the constant droning, I think I hear a melody.
Day 4 - I'm sure of it. Whiffs of music in the air. You just need to tune into the static. It conjures just a single phrase in front of my cortex over and over again.
Day 5 - There's no getting out. All roads lead back to the forest. Back here, where I am. It's been four days since I've mastered my limbic system. Three days since my senses started working.
